At Douvalls Beauty, sustainability isn't a marketing term, it's the foundation of everything we do. From the moment our argan oil is harvested in Morocco to the moment your order arrives at your door, every decision is made with people and planet in mind.
Our Women's Co-operative Partnership
We work directly with a women's co-operative in Morocco, where skilled women harvest and first cold-press argan oil using traditional, sustainable methods passed down through generations. By cutting out the middlemen, we ensure fair wages reach the hands that do the work, empowering women and their families in rural Morocco.
This isn't just ethical sourcing. It's a long term partnership built on respect, transparency, and shared values.
Building Futures: The School
We believe that supporting a community means investing in its future. That's why we helped build a school for the children of our co-operative partners. Education is one of the most powerful tools for lasting change, and we're proud to play a small part in making it accessible, particularly to the young girls with less education opportunities provided.
Reforestation & Ecosystem Restoration
The argan tree is a remarkable species, drought resistant, long lived, and vital to the ecosystem of southern Morocco. Our reforestation project works to protect and expand argan tree coverage, combating desertification and supporting biodiversity. We never over harvest as many others do! Every bottle of Douvalls argan oil is part of a living, growing ecosystem.
We also work with the Eden Reforestation project to plant a tree with every order, Eden People+Planet partners with communities to implement landscape restoration that strengthens resilience for people and the planet.
Our Soap Donation Programme
For every 2 soaps sold, we donate 1 soap. It's a simple promise that adds up to real impact, because everyone deserves access to gentle, natural skincare.
Eco-Friendly Packaging
We've made it our mission to eliminate unnecessary waste from our packaging:
- Dark glass bottles — recyclable, reusable, and better for preserving the integrity of our oils.
- Plastic-free soap and muslin cloth packaging — because our soaps and face cloths shouldn't come wrapped in the problem.
- Recyclable materials throughout — every element of our packaging is chosen with the end of its life in mind and our customers practicality and feedback too.
With every new product we strive to reduce our plastic packaging as much as possible, or ensure the solution is one of positive change.
